Where it all began: While completing my Masters in Media Studies and Media Management at The New School, I joined the ad sales team at Turner Broadcasting, first for TBS, and then Cartoon Network. Digital publishing and blogging was on the rise and I was eager to make a move into digital media, so after 2 years working in television, I joined the digital sales team at Scripps Networks. Selling digital media partnerships for beloved brands like FoodNetwork.com and HGTV.com was such a thrill.
After 2 years with Scripps, I began to crave something a bit more entrepreneurial. My manager departed Scripps and I jumped at the opportunity to join her and the digital sales team at Glam Media (later Mode Media). It was an exciting time as bloggers and influencers were the next big thing and Facebook/Twitter were on the rise. I worked with some of the top advertising brands on digital media campaigns including J&J Aveeno + Neutrogena, TJMaxx, Lady Foot Locker, Under Armour, Bacardi, Tyson, Macy’s, and L’Oreal Essie.
After 5 years of building Glam’s East Coast business, my entrepreneurial itch returned, and I craved that feeling of excitement I feel when I’m building something from the ground up.
I joined The Zoe Report, Rachel Zoe's digital magazine, in 2013 to help expand their team and build their NY office, all while creating new media products and continuing to scale digital media revenue. In my 3 years with TZR I got married and had a baby, which had me reprioritizing everything!
I decided to take time off to pursue my own venture. While continuing to do some media consulting on the side, in 2016 I launched anjie + ash. This was an entirely new world for me and I learned so much about e-commerce, influencer/brand relations, web design, Shopify, e-mail marketing, social media, inventory management, product design, product sales, affiliate sales, PR and more! I also secured 2 patents: utility and design, for my breakaway magnetic safety clasp.
In 2019 I joined the Brand Partnerships team at Motherly and in 2021 I moved into a VP role, leading a team of 17 as we scaled revenue through custom content partnerships, social media, influencer activations, e-mail, podcast sponsorships, experiential and more.
Today, I continue to consult for Motherly, leading the brand partnership’s team, have consulted for Diary of an Honest Mom, 7 Days of Play, Villie and am a co-founder and fractional CMO for Emersively.
